Interviews

The following interviews were conducted with individuals living along the route of the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline, from Bruderheim, Alberta, to Kitimat, British Columbia. Among many other questions, we asked them to consider whether they felt that their voice had been given adequate consideration during the Joint Review process; whether they felt that the pipeline’s touted economic benefits were a fair trade for the localized risks associated with its construction and maintenance; and what the future could hold, should the Northern Gateway ultimately be approved. Their responses were as insightful as they were blunt, and indicated overwhelming opposition to the project at the grassroots level.
